Kings Day Fundraiser for Shelter City Maastricht
Shelter City Maastricht is a local human rights program in which an international human rights defender (HRD) is hosted as a guest of our beautiful city and the university. The goal is to offer him or her a brief period (12 weeks) in which they can relax, build up their skills, share their stories and regain some of their strength, before traveling home. At the moment, the city is hosting an HRD from Indonesia.
During King’s Day we bake and sell yummy cookies, cupcakes, brownies, slices of pie and other wonderful sweets in order to raise money for the work of the HRD. All proceeds will go directly to the HRD. Come meet us at the city park (opposite the bird cage), learn about the HRD’s story and enjoy a piece of home-made baked goods, all while contributing to a better world. A win-win-win… for everyone.
